Bad butterfly

ok.... i wrote the below on tuesday.... it is now thurs and i finally got the butterfly thing sorted :)
have attached a peek... for the wild things exhibition.

I will keep the original one and show you one day just to make you giggle.

______________________________________________

Today i drew a butterfly. A very bad one. terrible actually.

I have the neat little habit of occasionally psyching my self out, normally at non-sensible times, like right before an exhibition or alternatively before a whole lot of illustration work is due.

I'm thinking it's the equivalent of a performer's butterflies in stomach, before they go out on stage... but mine is just one butterfly on page,

a badly drawn one.

Hot Chocolate

Mindy's Hot Chocolate, how cute is the packaging! Created by Kyle Tezak, source: TrendLand

It is a beautiful day to... hide under a blanket.

Absolutely pouring with rain today... and i have MEGA creative block.
Work in progress, just playing around with some soft colours. I have a vision of a small animal on her shoulder but i'm not sure.... little bit stuck, so her working name is 'stuck on you', however that too could stick.

I LOVE LISTS

I am totally in the mood for making lists, probably because my brain retains things like a drain. I wont bore you with my list of things to do, riveting as it is, but here are some things that i have been meaning to share! In a list. Seriously, I am digging numbering.

1. People often email to see where they can buy one of my girls online.... and whilst i have been meaning to get my online shop up and running it unfortunately gets shelved when things get super busy. BUT GUESS WHAT... drumroll please, I have limited edition prints and 2 originals available online, to buy. yup! Thanks angela and renee from Leeloo. You can check my work out here.

2. If anyone loves a good (slightly naughty) laugh, check out Obnoxious Owl blog. Tammy Croucher is the sharp tongued writer behind it and her frankness makes me smile everytime i read. A large dose of goodness she is.
Note: Mum - you probably wont like this one, move on to number 3.

3. Inspiration for the day: SARA MOON. love.

Yellow

I sway between drawing cute girly characters and much more grown up realistic ladies... it's probably a reflection of my own personality - grown up but a total kid at heart. Both have there perks, so here is a shot at being grown up!

The girl is from a photograph by Anna Wolf. Some of her work is just breathtaking, oodles of inspiring images in her portfolio.
